Decision boundary

This guide decides: which fill, filter, subgrade, placement and responsibility inputs must be coordinated.

Make mesh-to-fill compatibility explicit.

Record the approved grading, durability, shape, density or appearance requirements and the relationship to the mesh opening and unit depth. Confirm whether fill is local, buyer-supplied or part of another contract.

Define the filter function and interface.

State whether the project requires soil retention, drainage separation, filtration or another function. Provide subgrade, water, overlap, transition and adjoining-work information to the responsible designer; do not select a geotextile from a generic product label.

Control placement and visible-face requirements.

Describe access, lifting, machine or hand placement limits, face quality, bracing/formwork responsibility, overfill or settlement allowance policy and inspection hold points. These inputs affect the commercial scope but do not become site instructions on this page.

The response identifies the exact offered mesh or cage, unit and component quantities, material and coating basis, drawings, packing and document register. It separates confirmations from assumptions, options, exclusions and deviations. Civil, structural, hydraulic, geotechnical and rockfall decisions remain with their responsible project authorities.
