Galvanized, PVC-coated, polymer-coated, powder-coated and duplex describe different materials or process combinations. The sequence and substrate matter.

Ask what is coated, when fabrication or welding occurs, which metallic and organic layers are present, how the surface is prepared, what thickness or adhesion checks apply, and how damage is repaired. Do not infer service life from a colour name or transfer a standard for fabricated articles to continuously galvanized wire without checking its scope.

ISO 1461 has an explicit exclusion.

The official scope applies to batch hot-dip galvanized coatings on fabricated iron and steel articles; it excludes continuously hot-dip galvanized wire and products such as welded mesh made from that wire.

Do not apply ISO 1461 indiscriminately
